Lenovo Yoga convertibles bring versatility without compromise

Versatility is the name of the game in the modern world - so why would you settle for anything less with your gadgets?
At the heart of it, a tablet is just a computer without a keyboard, and an all-in-one is a big tablet with a decent stand.
So Lenovo have come up with the brilliant idea of not telling you that you'll need three different devices, with the Yoga bringing you all of the functionality you'll need; without making any compromises.
The beating heart of the Lenovo Yoga range is Windows 8; Microsoft's been making software that you rely on for years, but in Windows 8 it's created an operating system that is built for the 21st Century and, of course, the arrival of the touchscreen.
With a hybrid technology like Lenovo's Yoga it would be silly to have an operating system that worked fantastically with touch, but was useless when you were seeking to so something that required a keyboard.
And likewise, old versions of Windows simply didn't work all that well with touchscreens - which is exactly why Windows 8 has been built to bring you the best of both worlds.
Not only is there still the faithful old desktop that lets you do all of the important things that you want to do with your computer, there's also the Modern interface which is built to be finger-friendly.

All of this would be wasted with the wrong device - which is where the Lenovo Yoga comes in.
Because it's equally at home as a laptop - complete with an awesome keyboard and bundles of computing power - and as a tablet, with its beautiful, vivid and responsive touch-screen it's a world class way of bringing the best out of Windows 8.
As TechRadar's Lenovo Yoga 13 review suggests: This is an ideal flagship device for Microsoft ad Windows 8. It takes complete advantage of the Windows 8 environment, particularly the touch interface.
What makes the Yoga so incredibly versatile is the hinge that allows you to fold the keyboard in four different cool configurations. The first and most traditional is in laptop mode - giving you not only access to the fantastic chiclet keyboard but the perfect view of its high resolution screen.
You can still use the touchscreen, of course, but you could also opt to use the big sensitive touchpad to get around or even plug in a mouse.
Next up is the tablet mode, with the keyboard folded behind the screen - giving you a big, luscious tablet experience that is perfect for leisure use, or when you simply don't need to access your keyboard.
As TechRadar puts it: "the high quality display makes the Yoga a joy to use in this mode."
But, this wonderful hinge doesn't just limit you to two modes - because it's so flexible you can also fold the keyboard in to use as a stand - perfect for Skype calls or watching a movie.

Last but not least, there's Tent mode - which is brilliant for watching a movie or catch-up TV, or for when you're looking to show off some photos or a presentation.
One thing we haven't yet touched on is size - Lenovo knows that for some people having a big glorious 13-inch display is exactly what they want, which is why it offers up the stunning Lenovo Yoga 13.
For other people, a slightly smaller screen is all they want, perhaps because transportability is a big issue, and so there's the Lenovo Yoga 11S, bringing power and versatility with a compact 11-inch display.
And both the Yoga 13 and 11S are slim and light enough to be considered Ultrabooks - which means that they are both portable and comfortable to use.
So again, there's absolutely no need for you to have to choose between a laptop and a tablet - with the Lenovo Yoga range you can have the best of both worlds, and a couple of others besides.
Power, beauty and innovation are the hallmarks of a modern device, so why compromise by settling for anything less?
