20MP camera rocking Sony Xperia Honami pictured again

With alleged press shots, headlining 20MP camera and purported specifications now out in the wild, the Sony Xperia Honami has been leaked yet again in a bunch of a live photos. Those look to be the real deal, aligning nicely with previous live shots.
Anyway, the Xperia Honami has kept a lot of the charm of the Xperia Z it is said to succeed at the company's smartphone flagship throne. With a glass covered back and sharp edges all around, it's definitely a looker. The photos confirm the large loudspeaker grill, that is a slight departure from the current OmniBalance design.
Furthermore, the dedicated camera key on the right hand side underlines the cameraphone status of the smartphone. It's said to be a 20 megapixel Exmor RS unit, which will feature the Sony G-lens and BIONZ image processor, but its sensor will measure 1/2.3" rather than the previously rumored 1/1.6".
According to the person, who took the photos, the camera software isn't close to its final version. Since the resolution settings in the camera app were missing, too, he couldn't confirm if the phone packs a 20MP camera.
The specs sheet goes on with a flagship-worthy 5" 1080p display, 2.2GHz quad-core Krait 400 CPU and 2GB of RAM on a Snapdragon 800 chipset. The battery, while still non-removable, will be bumped to 3,000mAh, from the 2,330mAh on the Xperia Z.
Just like the Xperia Z, the Sony Xperia Honami is said to be IP57 certified, which it is completely dust-protected and will withstand a meter of water for 30 minutes.
Sony is expected to announce the Xperia Honami at a dedicated press event on September 4 in Berlin.

Samsung's new Exynos 5 Octa chip looks perfect for the Galaxy Note 3

After dropping a pretty significant teaser last week, Samsung has now spilled all on the new version of its Exynos 5 Octa processor - and it could be showing its face in the Samsung Galaxy Note 3.
The updated SoC is based on ARM's big.LITTLE design, offering four Cortex A15 cores clocked at 1.8GHz and and four Cortex A7 cores at 1.3GHz (making up the little).
All in all, the clock boost is said to offer 20 per cent more CPU processing oomph than the chip's predecessor.
It will also bring double the 3D graphics of the current model. Samsung has opted out of Imagination's PowerVR this time round and gone for a pumped-up, six-core ARM Mali GPU instead.

ARMed and dangerous

And if you think that it arrives almost too-perfectly timed for the Samsung Galaxy Note 3, you're not the only one. Gforgames reports that a Korean-based source claims the chip will indeed be found in Samsung's new Note device, which is expected to break cover at IFA 2013.
Adding further fuel to the fire, Samsung says that the new chip will start mass production in August, which aligns very nicely indeed.

Lenovo Yoga convertibles bring versatility without compromise

Versatility is the name of the game in the modern world - so why would you settle for anything less with your gadgets?
At the heart of it, a tablet is just a computer without a keyboard, and an all-in-one is a big tablet with a decent stand.
So Lenovo have come up with the brilliant idea of not telling you that you'll need three different devices, with the Yoga bringing you all of the functionality you'll need; without making any compromises.
The beating heart of the Lenovo Yoga range is Windows 8; Microsoft's been making software that you rely on for years, but in Windows 8 it's created an operating system that is built for the 21st Century and, of course, the arrival of the touchscreen.
With a hybrid technology like Lenovo's Yoga it would be silly to have an operating system that worked fantastically with touch, but was useless when you were seeking to so something that required a keyboard.
And likewise, old versions of Windows simply didn't work all that well with touchscreens - which is exactly why Windows 8 has been built to bring you the best of both worlds.
Not only is there still the faithful old desktop that lets you do all of the important things that you want to do with your computer, there's also the Modern interface which is built to be finger-friendly.
Yoga - in display mode
Yoga - in display mode
All of this would be wasted with the wrong device - which is where the Lenovo Yoga comes in.
Because it's equally at home as a laptop - complete with an awesome keyboard and bundles of computing power - and as a tablet, with its beautiful, vivid and responsive touch-screen it's a world class way of bringing the best out of Windows 8.
As TechRadar's Lenovo Yoga 13 review suggests: This is an ideal flagship device for Microsoft ad Windows 8. It takes complete advantage of the Windows 8 environment, particularly the touch interface.
What makes the Yoga so incredibly versatile is the hinge that allows you to fold the keyboard in four different cool configurations. The first and most traditional is in laptop mode - giving you not only access to the fantastic chiclet keyboard but the perfect view of its high resolution screen.
You can still use the touchscreen, of course, but you could also opt to use the big sensitive touchpad to get around or even plug in a mouse.
Next up is the tablet mode, with the keyboard folded behind the screen - giving you a big, luscious tablet experience that is perfect for leisure use, or when you simply don't need to access your keyboard.
As TechRadar puts it: "the high quality display makes the Yoga a joy to use in this mode."
But, this wonderful hinge doesn't just limit you to two modes - because it's so flexible you can also fold the keyboard in to use as a stand - perfect for Skype calls or watching a movie.
Yoga - tent mode is another option
Yoga - tent mode is another option
Last but not least, there's Tent mode - which is brilliant for watching a movie or catch-up TV, or for when you're looking to show off some photos or a presentation.
One thing we haven't yet touched on is size - Lenovo knows that for some people having a big glorious 13-inch display is exactly what they want, which is why it offers up the stunning Lenovo Yoga 13.
For other people, a slightly smaller screen is all they want, perhaps because transportability is a big issue, and so there's the Lenovo Yoga 11S, bringing power and versatility with a compact 11-inch display.
And both the Yoga 13 and 11S are slim and light enough to be considered Ultrabooks - which means that they are both portable and comfortable to use.
So again, there's absolutely no need for you to have to choose between a laptop and a tablet - with the Lenovo Yoga range you can have the best of both worlds, and a couple of others besides.
Power, beauty and innovation are the hallmarks of a modern device, so why compromise by settling for anything less?

More evidence that LG has both a smartwatch and tablet up its sleeve

When LG announced that it would be stamping all its future products with the "G" brand, there was a hint that it wasn't just going to be phones on the horizon - and some new discoveries could be evidence of that.
First a filing for an LG G Pad appeared, hinting that the company might be looking to jump back into the Android tablet game and echoing news that we'd previously reported.
But then things got even more interesting. Several other device filings were unearthed, adding a G Watch, G Band, G Hub, a G Glass, and a G Link to the pot.

Where my Gs at?

These were all filed filed with the Korean Intellectual Property Office (KIPO). Of course, we don't really need to point out that the G Watch seems pretty self-explanatory.
We previously reported on rumours that LG had a smartwatch in the works so it all fits together quite nicely.
We'd also say that the G Band safely sounds like a Fitbit/Nike FuelBand-style wearable, and G Glass, sure sounds like a Google Glass competitor.
This certainly wouldn't be the first we'd heard of LG looking at Google's wearable for inspiration. Then again, G Glass could mean something else entirely. LG windows?
The G Hub and G Link are also pretty ambiguous. Link sounds like something that might connect all of LG's devices together like a media hub - but who knows?
With LG's G2 unveiling event taking place in New York on August 7, it could be an opportune moment for a few G-based teasers. Heck, we may even see the tablet go official as well.

Ubuntu Edge smartphone picture leaks

A leaked photo ahead of Canonical's big reveal has shown off the Ubuntu Edge – a handset built to take advantage of the Ubuntu for Smartphones OS.
Canonical is desperate to capitalise on the mobile explosion, especially given the success of Android.
The Ubuntu Edge certainly looks snazzy enough – but can it convince the Linux legions that it should be their handset of choice?
The big event is later on, so expect a bit more detail then.

The ever-leaking Nexus 7 2 shows up with an Android 4.3-esque wallpaper

The leaks just keep on coming: A new cavalcade of Nexus 7 2 images have arrived with a fresh wallpaper, suggestingAndroid 4.3 rumors may indeed be true.
Android Police today posted a basket of images purporting to show the next Nexus 7 from all angles, including a peek at a new wallpaper that could very well be the default Android 4.3 background.
In addition to the 1.5GHz quad-core processor with dual cameras reported last Friday, the Nexus 7 2 is now said to include a notification LED as well as a 1920 x 1200 display resolution.
Google is hosting an event Wednesday during which it's widely believed it will unveil Android 4.3 as well as the new Nexus. Reports have pegged a 32GB model for $269 (about £175, AU$291), and a less expensive 16GB model at $229 (about £149, AU$247).

It's about time

Perhaps the more interesting aspect of the newly leaked images are the inclusion of an all-new wallpaper on every single front-facing, suggesting that the 7-inch tablet will indeed come sporting an updated Android 4.3.
Further supporting this rumor is the time of day featured on the latest screenshots, which shows 4:30 - as in "Android 4.3"...see what we're saying?

Pardon, but do you have the time? (Credit: Android Police)
As we've seen in other leaks, the Nexus branding on the back appears to be in landscape mode instead of portrait, in keeping with the tradition established on the Nexus 10, although the Nexus 7 2 is will be manufactured by Asus again.
At this point, the only "surprise" left may be any wireless data connectivity, such as 4G LTE - but you may have to wait until Google's event on Wednesday to find out.

Nokia Lumia 625 leaks light up the web ahead of possible reveal

Finnish tech site Puhelinvertailu released specs that match the previously leaked specs we've listed below.
But here's a few new nuggets we noticed about the Nokia 625: the large 4.7-inch screen is LCD, the 5-megapixel camera has 1080p recording capabilities and there will be microSD support for up to 64GB with 8GB of internal memory already on board - or so the report claims.
Five different colors are said to be available - orange, bright green, yellow, white and black - with interchangeable semi-transparent shells.
The site also claims the Lumia 625 will have an LTE variant with support for European bands - and probably North American support a little bit later.
Original article below ....
It seems like Nokia has its work cut out for itself.
Right after tweeting there would be "something big" revealed tomorrow, notorious leak artist @evleaks struck back with its own set of tweets.
Nokia 625
So bright and shiny
We already speculated that the Nokia 625 would be the prime topic of discussion and it seems @evleaks agrees.
The Twitter account posted not one, not two, but three images of brightly stacked phones, with two pictures containing phones noticeably sporting "6:25" as the time.

Coincidence? Maybe, maybe not

Nokia Lumia 625
The suspicious time shown in the image may seem like a far stretch butleaks of the Nexus 7 2 have taken a similar route in attempting to conveyAndroid 4.3.
Though, the incessant amount of images of the purported Lumia 625 seem to strongly suggest this may not be a coincidence.
TechRadar has previously reported that the Lumia 625 will likely pack a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 512MB of RAM, 5MP rear camera and front facing VGA.
At this point, however, guessing is really just a countdown until tomorrow, at which point Nokia will let us know what's really going on.
